(Ed talks about being invited here by the Seminole Tribe here in Florida.  They performed a ceremony for/with the band.  The Seminole thanked Pearl Jam for their work with indigenous people and Ed point out that it was almost entirely Jeff Ament’s doing.)

(Ed talks about their first show in Florida.  Falling asleep on the beach and getting badly sunburnt.  They played The Cameo Theater.  Ed dove into the crowd and said it felt like several thousand hands clawing his back.  This song sounds like that felt)

( "I just looked up at the screen and saw myself.  I had no idea I looked so much like Jimmy Buffett tonight."  He talks briefly about liking Buffett and they had met him a few times and he knew how to live.  But he wants to play a song for his favorite Floridian, Tom Petty, even though he is gone it feels like he is here.)

Tja, es überrascht mich nicht. Die Zeiten, in denen man sich kritisch mit der Weltlage auseinandergesetzt hat oder Dinge hinterfragt wurden, scheinen vorbei zu sein. Heute ist man offenbar satt, selbstzufrieden – und sieht keinen Anlass mehr, etwas zu hinterfragen oder anzustoßen.
Ich bezweifle, dass sich daran noch etwas ändern wird.

(An amusing anecdote is related wherein Ed lists venues they played in Florida on their first time through and a certain club where he dropped from a ceiling beam while being pursued by a zealous security guard.  Ed was caught by the crowd who held him aloft as Ed gave the security guard an obscene gesture with both hands)

(While the band is still playing the outro of Daughter starts playing guitar riff for Not For You the rest of the band quickly follows.)

(Ed mentions a review that said Mike McCready was an arsonist at the previous show.  Ed said Ron DeSantis tried to have Mike arrested and sent to El Salvador but they were able to get out of that situation because Mike is white and has money.  Remember to look out for others and not just yourself.)

(Ed’s wife and daughters are at tonights show.  He talks about never imagining in the beginning he would be writing songs about having children.  Mentions Mike’s oldest getting accepted at a  top school.  The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree?  This apple fell and rolled down a hill!. (Ed thanks Chris and Seminole Tribe of Florida.  Chris found the bass that Jeff had played on Vs but wasn’t able to purchase.  Jeff had been missing and thinking of the bass and Chris and the people at the Hard Rock had the bass in storage and gave it to Jeff before the first show.  Jeff plays it on the next song)
