Ned's Atomic Dustbin… Don't Exist: DVD AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER NOW
Pre-Order from: http://www.twelve42.com
On the 22nd April 2006, 11 years after their last single Ned's Atomic Dustbin returned to the studio to record the brand new single Hibernation.
This new DVD entitled Don't Exist, documents the rehearsal and recording of the new song as well as their three live shows in Birmingham and London. It has been directed by Carl Beebee and AJDavies, both life long Ned's fans, and has been produced by 12.42 Films, Spitfirepink and Surge Music.
Carl Beebee said, "I felt that the landmark of the Ned's returning to the studio deserved a documentary". He continued "It was also equally as important for us to make a real documentary. We wanted to sugar coat nothing."
When asked about the film, lead singer Jonn Penney replied, "Honesty! It's been both our strength and weakness from day one and that's obvious throughout this film. We've hidden nothing from the cameras. We haven't overdubbed, corrected or embellished the sound of the live footage. Why? Because we wanted to put you in the pit at one of our gigs." He continued "If you want to know which Neds make the tea, what a rehearsal is like and who likes ducks, this is the film for you!"
The film contains new interviews and never before seen backstage footage as well as live tracks including; Kill Your Television, Happy, Cut Up, Intact, Aim and many more. It is 56 minutes long and includes 28 minutes of special features.
The last film they had made similar to this was the massive VHS hit Nothing Is Cool in the early 90's.
Jonn Penney added "We lead double lives – onstage and off, day-job and rock-god. Being in the Ned's is the next best thing to being Spider-Man. This film demonstrates the acute contrast between the ordinary world and planet rock, We're lucky enough to live in both." He finished by saying "Expect to see the reality of Ned's Atomic Dustbin in the 21st Century".
The film is available to pre-order now from www.twelve42.com and is released on 14.06.2007.
